Dane Leaves Whangaroa
(N.Z. Press Association)
WHANGAREI, July 20.
The 24-foot yacht Tiki was not at anchorage in Whangaroa Harbour this morning and it is thought her owner, Mr P. Klokker, took her out seawards either late yesterday afternoon or early this morning. This lone Danish yachtsman, who has rejected a marine department check of the boat and has no customs clearance, plans to sail to his homeland by way of Australia.
He was heard to say on Saturday that, weather permitting, he would leave the anchorage yesterday.
