(New Zealand Press Association)
AUCKLAND, July 19. Mrs E. F. Day, of Nelson, who was travelling in the Cogedar liner, Fiavia, was attacked in Suva by a young native three weeks ago. Mrs Day said in Auckland on Saturday that the native snatched her purse off her arm and made off with it. “In the purse was my passport. Post Office savings book, all my travellers cheques and all my money,” she said. Mrs Day started to run after the thief, shouting “police” and “stop thief.” “Before I knew it, everybody was in the chase,” she said. “There must have been
20 people running after him, but we still didn’t catch him. This happened right at the beginning of our Pacific cruise,” she said. "1 was worried about what I would do for spending money. Several passengers offered to help me out, but I had already been to a bank in Suva and they had made good the amount of my travellers cheques.” THINKING OF A BC-IPAYT An Advertisement in "THE PBESS" •■Holiday end Hotel Accommodation Column"
