AIRPORTS FLOODED

Tauranga And

Hamilton

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 7.

Hamilton and Tauranga airports were flooded today disrupting some northern services. Two other North Island airports, Napier and Rotorua, were closed by low cloud and poor visibility. Only one aircraft used Hamilton, a DC3 which had been grounded on Monday. It left Hamilton at 9.30 a m.—two hours’ overdue. Other Hamilton flights operated through Matamata. Napier was closed at lunchtime and a morning flight from Wellington was diverted to Palmerston North. Dunedin was closed by low cloud, poor visibility and fog. The Viscount due to leave at 8.10 a.m. finally left at noon. Auckland and Wellington airports operated under marginal conditions tonight.
