Cars Ferried
Recently, as a trial measure, some new cars from Wellington were ferried to Picton on the Aramoana instead of on the inter-island steamer express. Some Christchurch firms sent their drivers to Picton on the 7 a.m. bus to pick up the cars. One Christchurch car firm said this method probably cost more, and was certainly more inconvenient than the usual practice.
