WAIMAIRI WATER

Some Plant Ready

Some of the control equipment for the fluoridation of the Waimairi County Council’s water supply is ready for shipment from Australia, but no import licence has so far been granted for the “feeding” apparatus, the waterworks engineer (Mr G. N. Robinson) said yesterday. After the equipment has arrived in New Zealand, it will be months before the scheme is brought into operation. Several sheds to .house the equipment will have to be erected.

At its estimates meeting last month, the council allocated £15,000 to meet fluoridation costs this year.
