To Sail New Seas
The last of the old-time Island traders, the schooner Tiare Tappro, is at present laid up in Auckland preparing for a new lease of life. Soon, the 173-ton ship will be back on a run which is completely new to her—around New Guinea and the Solomons. For more than half a century the Tiare Taporo has sailed back and forth from New Zealand across the South Seas.
