Captain McLeish
Sir, —I read your obituary on Captain McLeish with interest. You omitted to state that he had command of the Hinemoa for over six years. He took command for her second round trip, as her first master had to relinquish command owing to illness. Captain McLeish made a great job in berthing her on her third trip at Lyttelton, during a southerly gale when she did not arrive until after 3 in the afternoon. This I watched with great interest.—Yours, A FRIEND. June 25,1964.
