Congratulations Of N.C.W.
“We could not have a better representative than Mrs Grant; she has so much to give,” said the president of the Christchurch branch of the National Council: of Women (Miss M. E. Saunders) congratulating the Dominion president of the council (Mrs W. Grant), who will leave soon to attend the executive meeting of the I.C.W. at Interlaken. Miss Saunders said Mrs Grant was highly esteemed by the International Council of Women as well as by the New Zealand council. “Her visit will have Important results and we shall be looking forward to greeting her back,” she- said. The Government had made a grant towards Mrs Grant’s travelling expenses, which was most gratifying. But as it did not cover the bare minimum of the cost, Miss Saunders suggested that the branch hold a special fundraising effort. A recommendation to this effect was carried unanimously.
