PENSIONS BASIS

Examination Urged (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 17. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nordmeyer) tonight called for an examination of pensions for aged single persons. Speaking in the Address-in-Reply debate, he. suggested the Government should adopt a measure to do better by people living alone. Mr Nordmeyer said £5 was pitifully inadequate to meet the needs of a New Zealand pensioner.
