Heifer Brings lOOgns Twenty-eight stud Ayrshire bulls and heifers were offered at the Canterbury Ayrshire Cattle Club’s first annual sale held at the Addington Show Grounds on Tuesday. Some good quality cattle, particularly in the heifer section were offered, and sales were made to all parts of the province as well as a few as far north as Hamilton. On the better Class of cattle, bidding was quite strong and a satisfactory clearance was made. Top price of the sale was lOOgns, paid for a heifer offered by Messrs Legg and Company (Lakeside). A bull from this property also topped the bull section with a price of 50gns. The top-priced heifer was bought by Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Hamilton, as agents. A. D. and G. M. Hall (Lepperton, North Island), purchased the top-priced bull. Of the 11 bulls offered, nine were sold at an average price of 33.61gn5, Legg and Company selling six at an average price of 32.5gn5. Eight of the 15 heifers offered were sold, all on account of Legg and Company at an average price of 57.18gn5. For the 14 cattle sold Legg and Company averaged 46.6gn5. Hoban, Culverden); 1 at 20gns <G. G. Booth, Paemako); 1 at 35 gns (R. S. Beld, Seacliff). J. A. King, Drumhilla: 1 at 25 gns (Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd., as agents). A. C.
