TRADE LINK ‘POSSIBLE’
Commonwealth And E.F.T.A. (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON, June 15. Mr Harold Wilson, the Leader of the Opposition, said that Britain and the other member countries of the European Free Trade Association may have to think of closer links with the British Commonwealth. This would have to be studied closely if the division between the E.F.T.A. seven and the Common Market countries could not be bridged and the Kennedy round of tariffs cuts failed, he said at the Anglo-Austrian Society dinner in the Livery Hall, at Guildhall. Describing Austria as “a symbol of highly progressive government and co-operation between the parties,” Mr Wilson said that no-one knew what the future of trade in Europe would be in the next few years.
Tetanus Case.—Mr Oswald Haslett, the Opotiki farmer who was flown to Auckland suffering from tetanus, was discharged from Auckland hospital on Sunday. He was admitted on Thursday night —(P.A.)
