Probation For Theft
Mr Justice Wilson In the Supreme Court yesterday sentenced Mervyn Phillip Mead, aged 27, a clerk, to two years’ probation, a condition being that Mead is to pay £75 toward the cost of his prosecution. A jury last week found Mead guilty of theft of £505 2s 6d from Thomas Borthwick and Son, Ltd., while in its employ. Leniency was recommended. Mr N. W. Williamson appeared for the Crown, and Mr B. McClelland for Mead.
