Free-For-All At Yonkers

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) NEW YORK, June 15. Cardigan Bay will start from the outside in a handicap free-for-all event at Yonkers Raceway on Tuesday night. It will be his first appearance since he won the two-mile National Championship Pace on June 4. The opposition will include Canada’s Country Den, and Adora’s Dream, Irvin Paul, Cold Front and Mighty Tide. Overtrick, the American 4-year-old champion which inflicted Cardigan Bay’s only defeat in four starts in America, is not competing.

The brilliant American pacer is concentrating for the present on the harness tracks of America pacing races, a series of rich events for horses of his age at various tracks around the country.

The race will return Cardigan Bay to the one-mile distance preferred by the American horses.
