Twenty-one young boys in Auckland yesterday admitted, without blushing, that they had never heard of the Beatles. And when the Vienna Boys’ Choir members finally found out just who the English singing foursome were, one tousle-headed youngster asked: “Die Beatles . . . ja . . . but have they heard of us?” In Auckland at the start of their seven-week long tour of New Zealand, the choir enthralled an audience with their singing at a public welcome for them in the town hall.— (PA.)
