Braemar After Second Wellington Steeples
"The Press" Special Service
CAMBRIDGE, June 12. Braemar, the winner of last year's Wellington Steeplechase, will again . attempt the big Trentham race, according to his trainer, J. W. Winder, of Cambridge. A. T. Haitana. who rode Braemar to. run a close second in the Great Northern Steeplechase, will again ride the Balloch gelding, who has trained on solidly at Cambridge since his testing Ellerslie race. Braemar has been entered both on the flat and over country at the coming Hastings meeting. His programme for that meeting will be decided next week. Braemar’s trainer also plans to attempt the Wellington Steeplechase with Ringlock, the recent winner of the McGregor Grant Steeplechase at Ellerslie. J. S Humphries, who won on Ringlock there, will again ride the Ringlight gelding, which has been most consistent over fences. Ringlock, too, is training on soundly and is a likely candidate over country at Hastings. Sybeau. another member of Winder's team, will probably race over seven furlongs at Hastings prior to tackling the
major Trentham flat events. He showed good form in winter conditions at Trentham two years back when he won his way from hack class. Turned Out (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, June 11. Golden Dreamer is unlikely to race again this winter. This was confirmed at Woodville this morning by M. C. Robinson who was supervising the preparation of E. Ropiha’s horses at the training track. Last week-end Ropiha received concussion in a fall during a cross-country jumping event at Dannevirke. Discharged from hospital on Monday, Ropiha has been home since, but he is not yet completely fit
