BOOSTING MILK CONSUMPTION

The Canterbury Milk Vendors’ Association will write to the Christchurch Metropolitan Milk Board inviting it to take part in an advertising campaign to boost milk ; consumption.

The president of the vendors’ association (Mr P. A. Caithness) told a meeting of the board yesterday that his association was concerned that milk consumption had decreased and was not keeping up with the population growth. The association proposed to start an advertising campaign and invited the board to join in, he said. Mr H. E. Denton said there were four parties concerned—the producer, the treatment stations, the vendors, and the board. He considered the best thing would be to set up a sub-committee to go into the mater. It was not good from a public health stand point for milk consumption Ito fall. > The chairman (Mr R. G. I Browne) told Mr Caithness to submit his proposals in a I letter to the board.
