MUNITIONS EXPLODE

Encampment Destroyed (N.Z.P. A. -Reuter—Copyright) SANTO DOMINGO (Dominican Republic) June 12. A heavy death toll with hundreds of injured was feared early today when Santo Domingo was rocked by a series of shattering explosions after fire broke out in the munitions store of an army training centre. Explosions were still being heard and flames lit up the sky four hours after the first blast levelled the encampment, capable of holding up to 1300 men. Windows were splintered in the business district more than a mile away and doors and window’s were rattled at a distance of five miles.
