Eight Die In Mock Battle

NEEDLES (California), May 26. Eight soldiers were killed in the first week of manoeuvres in the exercise “desert strike,” the army announced yesterday. The latest victims were two airmen who crashed to their deaths in a reconnaisance aircraft on Sunday near Ivanpah, California, and a soldier who drowned in the Colorado river. Altogether five soldiers have now drowned from 100,000 soldiers, forming the mythical nations of Nezona and Calonia who are battling for control of the Colorado river.
