THE BIGGEST OIL TANKER TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND.—The Sereilia (42,082 tons), which is due at Marsden Point next Friday to discharge a cargo of crude oil at the Whangarei refinery. She can handle more than 6000 tons of crude oil an hour with her four cargo pumps. The Serenia was built at Walker-on-Tyne, England, for Shell Tankers, Ltd., and was launched in October. 1960. Her over-all length is 817ft 9in, her maximum breadth 112ft 9in, and her draught 43ft 4in. Her single five-bladed screw is powered by geared steam turbines, giving a service speed of 16½ knots.
