Third In Family To Win Title

A clear round in the show jumping and a fine performance in the cross-country gave Miss Diana Dunn, of South Canterbury, a convincing win in the Al Cup competition on the second day of the New Zealand pony club championships, held at Motukarara, yesterday.

She has followed in the footsteps of her sister, Jennifer, who won the event last year, and her brother, Lesley, who has also held the cup.

On the first day, Miss Dunn, mounted on the very experienced pony, Young Blaze, established a commanding lead of 10 points in the dressage tests. Yesterday, she continued to show outstanding form, losing only 1.5 points in the cross country and completing the show jumping without deduction. 11-Point Victory Her combined total for the three sections of 30.83 points was 11 points ahead of her nearest rival, Phillip Harwood (Hamilton), on Putaki.
