FRENCH ARE “FOXING”

Test Captain Warns Team (N.Z. Press SYDNEY, May 22. Australia’s Rugby League captain, I. Walsh, yesterday said the French team’s' two defeats in North Queensland this week could be “a firstclass piece of foxing,” reported the sports columnist of the Sydney “Daily Telegraph.” Walsh will lead combined Sydney against France tomorrow. France lost to North Queensland, 35-21, last Sunday and was beaten, 22-2. by Central Queensland on Tuesday. Walsh said: “France is always apt to mislead the opposition when it approaches a big match, such at Saturday’s. “This sort of strategy put Australian teams ‘on the wrong leg’ in past touts. I know the Frenchmen and I am not under-rating them.” Walsh told his team: France’s match against Sydney will be the key to the tour. It will have to play well to ensure the tour is a financial success.
