ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFIC
China “Major Supplier” (Special Crspdt. N.Z P A.J LONDON, May 21. The United States has increasing evidence to indicate that China is a major supplier of opium, from which morphine and heroin are derived for the illicit drug traffic, says a report issued in Geneva by the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs. Tremendous quantities bf opium produced in mainland China and Burma are smuggled into Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong.
