MORE AID TO S. VIETNAM

WASHINGTON, May 19. The U.S. House of Representatives foreign affairs committee today approved an additional 125 million .dollars (about £45 million) aid to South Vietnam, requested on Monday by President Johnson. The full house must approve the addition to the Foreign Aid Bill. Mr Robert S. McNamara, the Secretary of Defence, said today that U.S. soldiers in South Vietnam were receiving “the best equipment available.”
