TRANSPORT LEVY UP

fN.Z. Press Association; . AUCKLAND, May 20. The Auckland Transport Board levy on contributing local bodies has jumped by 10.85 per cent this year. Ratepayers in the board’s disrtict will face a levy of £161,916 to help to cover losses which the board* estimates will amount to £229,616. Last year the levy was fixed at £146,074 and the year before at £99,136.

The general manager, Mr C. R. Gribble, said the estimated loss 'for the current year (£229,616) was £28,113 above the estimated loss for last year.

It was £77,261 above the actual loss for last year.
