GIFT OF SILVER SALVER
“We are not In competition —we are comrades in doing the work of the Divine Healer," the chairman of the executive of St. George’s Hospital (Dr. L. C. L. Averill) told the Reverend Mother Superior of Calvary Hospital (Mother Carmela) yesterday He was speaking in a ceremony at which the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt Rev. A. K. Warren), as warden of St. George’s, presented a silver salver to the sisters of Cai-
vary to commemorate the jubilee of the start of their work in Christchurch. The salver is to go in the sisters’ new home.
The bishop recalled the “very close co-operation” he had had with the sisters for almost 30 years, since he went as vicar to St. Mary’s, Merivale.
The Mother Superior said she was proud of the association of the two hospitals. “Please God it may always continue,” she said.
