Southern Song Sold
"The Press” Special Service INVERCARGILL, May 11. The three-year-old pacer Southern Song has been sold to the Auckland owner, Mrs A. D. Dean. Southern Song, which was raced by Messrs L. and J. J. Duffy, was sent north at the week-end. This season the Flying Song gelding had nine starts from H. W. Cox’s Winton stables for two wins and four placings. His most important success was gained in the Central Otago Stakes at the Roxburgh Easter meeting. His latest start was at the recent Forbury Park meeting, when he brilliantly won the Peninsula Handicap only to be relegated to fourth for causing interference when challenging. Spring Edition, the dam of Southern Song, is by Springfield Globe from Sporting Edition, a Quite Sure mare. She is also the dam of winners in Pretoria Bob, Spring Garrison and Southern Lily.
