Homeserviceinen's Association “Can anyone tell me how we can keep our representation on the Patriotic Board, or be heard by Government if we have no weight of members to carry our convictions?” asked the secretary (Mrs I. R. Johnston) in her report to the annual meeting of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Home Services’ Association. In 1945 the association had a total of 35 women and 938 men members, and shortly afterwards the peak of more than . 1200 members was reached, but in March of this year the association had only 219 financial members, Mrs Johnston said. Officers elected at the meeting were:—President, Mr E. V. Green; vice-presidents, Messrs D. A. MacGregor, J. N. Hunt, W. Harris; secretary, Mrs I. R. Johnston; treasurer, Mr H. N. Whittaker; executive, Messrs C. Dawson, E. Foote, L. Prenderville, M. Boyce, C. J. G. Goode, F. Cracroft Wilson, E. H. Whiteside, F. H. Lloyd; auditor, Mr J. Roysmith; representative on the Canterbury Provincial Patriotic Committee welfare committee, Brigadier F. W. Hay; representative on the standing committee of the Canterbury Provincial Patriotic Committee, Mr C. J. G. Goode.
Tram for Museum.—A tram which was in use in Auckland in 1902 and one of the first to be used on the city's system, has been obtained by the Museum of Transport and Technology. It is in good order after having been used as a garden outhouse for about 30 years.—(P.A.)
