WHITE MAN IN KENYA

‘Time Running Out’ (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 5. The sands of time are running out for the white man in Kenya, according to a British family which arrived in the Canberra today to start a new home in New Zealand. “By that I don’t mean that there is likely to be any more violence of the mau mau type,” said Major D. A. Crampton, who has emigrated to New Zealand with his wife and two daughters. “The country is very stable politically and Jomo Kenyatta has proved to be a statesman of the first grade—l must say to the surprise of some.

“But it is obvious that white men are going to find it increasingly harder to get good jobs as more Africans move into the top positions. There is certainly no question of the Europeans being forced out.’ however,” he said.
