DECAY IN HOUSES

Nation-wide Survey (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 23. The timber and painting industries have launched a nation-wide survey to determine the factors contributing to deterioration of homes and other buildings. Thousands of home will be carefully examined for wood decay and defective paint and putty work in the first survey of its kind in the country. Industry officials believe the results of the survey will lead to major improvements in home preservation methods, saving owners many thousands of pounds in maintenance.
