£109,000 TENDER

Woodville Stand (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON N„ April 19. The Woodville - Pahiatua Racecourse Co., Ltd., has accepted a tender of £109,000 for the erection of a new members’ stand at the Woodville racecourse. This was confirmed today by the architect, Mr J. R.

Roberts, the designer of the grandstand at present under erection at the Awapuni racecourse. The successful tenderer Is a Feilding firm which recently erected the new railway station in Feilding. The grandstand, designed to seat 2000 persons and accommodate a further 1000, will be built on the site of the existing stewards’ stand. It is expected that demolition of .the old building will begin immediately following the Woodville Jockey Club’s May meeting.
