Assistance Given To Many Assistance given to hospitals, children’s hoiqes, babies' homes, meals-on-wheels, senior ■ citizens, and other welfare organisations is described ’in the annual report of the New Zealand Junior Red Cross. In all parts of New Zealand members had given assistance to local hospitals. Visits were paid to local children’s homes and articles of clothing provided for babies’ homes. For . senior citizens, members provided visits, concerts, plays and outings. Fruit, vegetables, and gifts were sent in by junior members to assist towards the meals-on-wheels service. Parcels were sent to psychiatric hospitals, intellectu-ally-handicapped children's centres, and members assisted the R.S.A. in selling poppies and Health Stamps. Help was sent to victims of disasters, refugees, displaced persons, lepers and the under-privileged in 20 countries.
