(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 10. Tomorrow night’s preOlympic athletic meeting at Western Springs will be held “rain, hail or snow,” said Mr B. Payne, president of the organising club, Owairaka. “Saturday is the closing day for runners to achieve qualifying times for the Olympic Games. It would be pointless holding the meeting after tomorrow.”
Record Profit.—The New Zealand Open golf championship at Belmont, Wanganui, last year made a surplus of £3s9—the biggest in the championships’ history. An incorrect figure was reported yesterday.
