New Chairman Appointed For Marriage Guidance

WELLINGTON, April 10. The appointment of Mr L. G. H. Sinclair, of Auckland, to be chairman of the Advisory Committee on Marriage Guidance was announced by the Minister of Justice (Mr Hanan) today. He follows the late Mr J. G. Warrington, S.M., who had been chairman since the committee was set up in 1960. Mr Hanan said that the committee under Mr Warrington had made a remarkable contribution to marriage guidance work throughout the country.
Mr Hanan said that broadly, the function of the committee was to help the Government in the task of encouraging the growth of a sound voluntary movement an< ! resolving Questions and difficulties as they arose from time to time. Under Its guidance, a scheme for the selection and training of counsellors had provided voluntary organisations with 64 counsellors 20 of whom were accredited’ The others were in various stages of their training, Said Mr Hanan.
