SCHOOL BUS HITS POLE
13 Children Unhurt
(N Z. Press Association) LEVIN, April 10. A school bus bringing children from Hokio beach to schools in Levin hit a telegraph pole and narrowly escaped turning over when it slithered down a slight bank on the main road at Hokio beach township today. The accident occurred at about 8.15 a.m., and it was reported that the 13 children on board suffered no injuries. A bus from the Boys’ Training Centre was sent out to take the children to school. The bus, which belonged to Murphy Motors, Ltd., Foxton, had most of the left mudguard torn off and a centre bolt of a spring was broken and damage done to the axle and tyre. The accident brought down the telephone lines.
