MEXICAN PLANT
The American Motors Corporation is building a sevenmillion dollar plant in Mexico to make Rambler cars and Jeep engines. The plant will have a capacity of about 8000 engines a year, and two different Rambler engines will also be built.
Sales of Rambler cars in Mexico have more than tripled in the last three years, and this year the company expects to sell 4000 cars in Mexico. Mexico has been a stable market for Jeeps for the last 10 years, but a big increase in sales is expected.
