Mr David G. Wilson arrived in Auckland by air yesterday to take up the post of United States Consul. As a member of the University of Oregon debating team, Mr Wilson spent a month in New Zealand in 1931. He is 53. (P.A.) Mr N. R. Ainsworth has been appointed deputy general manager of the State Insurance Office by the State Services Commission. He is manager of the Christchurch branch. Aged 45, Mr Ainsworth is a qualified accountant He joined the Public Service in 1936 as a cadet in the Christchurch office.— (P.A.) The former Minister of Works, Mr W. S. Goosman, and Mr R. E. Gambrill, a Gisborne barrister and solicitor, have been appointed directors of the Reserve Bank.—(PA.)
