Auckland Selector

(N Z Pre»i Attociation) AUCKLAND, April 1. In a ballot last night, Mr R. G. Sorenson, a former Auckland full-back, was appointed sole selector for the Auckland A Rugby team. He replaces Mr F. R. Allen, who has retired after seven years as selector. Also nominated for the post were Messrs P. R. Hall and J. B. S. Hutchinson.

League Player.—The Welsh sprinter, Berwyn Jones, regarded as a “probable” for Britain’s Olympic team, signed as a professional Rugby League player on Tuesday. Jones, aged 24, is the British 100 yards title-holder. —(P.A.-Reuter).
