£lOOO For Medicine

A gift of £lOOO has been received by the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation from the trustees of the estate of Mr Levi Blood. The foundation has approved a grant over six months of £750, plus Up to £lOO for expenses, to the University of Canterbury to assist Dr. R. G. Every to prepare work for publication under the direction of Professor G. A. Knox. It has also approved a grant of £7.5 to Mr B. Sullivan of the School for Dental Nurses for his work on the pre-maxilla, especially the palatal shelf. The work is being carried out on the same laboratory rat colony that Dr. D. Poswillo is already using, for research supported by the foundation. The foundation has agreed to supply speakers to the Federation of Townswomen's Guilds in connexion With the federation’s adoption of medical research as its “project for the year.”
