Council Seeks Approval "Th« Pre»a” Special Service AUCKLAND, March 25. The Howick Borough Council has asked the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr J. H. Sinclair, for permission to form a recreational area with football fields in the public cemetry on the corner of Paparoa road and Litten road. The council intends to make two football fields in the .northern part of the cemetery, leaving grave plots untouched. If the commissioner approves the proposal, the council Will incorporate in the by-laws a condition that all sports will cease while a burial is in progress. The proposed recreation area, which brought objections from five residents, has been approved by the Health Department.
