N.Z. Singers Dominant

When the Sadler’s Wells Opera Company presented Its production, of Saint-Saen’s “Samson and Delilah” recently at the King’s. Theatre, Southsea, New Zealanders dominated the proceedings. The tenor, Jon Andrew (Samson), the mezzo-soprano Heather Begg (Delilah), (he principal .baritone John Hauxvell, and the bass Noel Mangin, are all New Zealanders, and so is the conductor, Warwick Braithwaite. “It seemed like an all-New Zealand show,” a Sadler's Wells spokesman said.
