TRADING HOURS AT EASTER

Fresh Bread On

Saturday

Although shops in Christchurch will be closed for four days during the Easter weekend, bakers will ensure a supply of fresh bread by baking on the Saturday. Bread will not be baked on Good Friday, or Easter Day or Monday, but normal baking hours will be resumed on the Tuesday morning. Late night in Christchurch will be on Thursday and shops will not re-open until Tuesday morning. The usual Saturday hours of trade will be observed at New Brighton.

After delivering mail on Thursday, postmen will not again be on their rounds until Tuesday. The Post Office counters and savings bank will be closed from 8.30 p.m. on Thursday until Tuesday morning.
