Harmonic Society Ladies Auxiliary
A talk on the work of the Christchurch Harmonic Society during the past year, and its aims for 1964, was given by its conductor (Mr W. R. Hawkey) at the annual meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary of the society, held recently. A musical programme followed the meeting. Items were given by Mr C. C. Smith (bass); Mrs P. Forne and Mr F. Shields (duets). Mrs T. H. Best was the accompanist. Officers elected were:— President, Mrs D. E. Wilson; vice-presidents, Lady Adams, Mesdames W. R. Hawkey, R. H. Hayman, E. McKay, S. G. Turner; secretary, Mrs D. J. Reid; treasurer, Mrs R. S. Smith; committee, Mesdames J. L. Bush, R. J. G. Collins, S. W. Gower, I. Greenway, G. F. Lowry, N. MacCalister, T. J. Porterfield, M. Potter, I. M. Sparrow, R. P. Thomson, S. G. Turner and A. Whitworth.
