THIS STEEL ROAD, using prefabricated surface units, was recently tested on the autobahn at Leverkusen, in the Ruhr. A half-mile, four-lane stretch of road can be assembled and ready for use within 24 hours. The steel roading can be laid across fields as well as over rutted roads without any special subsoil support.
