Miss Evans Was taken to die Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head, arm and leg injuries. Her condition was later reported to be fair. ;

It was the third and most serious accident involving motorscooter riders within six hours in Christchurch yesterday. A dog was the cause of the first one, and a car and scooter collided in the second. The flying duck struck Miss Evans in darkness. Miss McGarva suffered arm abrasions and a bruised temple: A .St John ambulance was called but the nurse said she was all right. Later, Miss McGarva’s father took.her to the hospital, and she was discharged after treatment ’ "
