Support For Appeals
The sum of £156 had been subscribed to various Red Cross Society appeals, it was reported to the recent annual meeting of the St. Albans Sub-centre of the Red Cross Society. Members had been active in assisting with the Good Neighbour Service, visiting the aged and disabled, and making and distributing comforts and toys. Membership had increased by 22 during the year, it was reported. The following, officers were elected:—President, Mrs W. H. Beanland; vice-presidents, Mesdames D. Smart, L. V. Gain, E. Watson, F. Feu, H. A. Brown, and L. Williams; secretary, Mrs E. C. Colville; treasurer, Mrs Wallace C. Keetley; committee, Mesdames G. Rhodes, L. Cleverley, Mrs F. Dangerfield; sales table, Mrs G. Rhodes, Misses L. Saunders, F. Dangerfield.
