DISPUTE SETTLED
Workers At Penrose (N Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Mar. 17. A dispute between the Woodpulp and Paper Workers’ Federation and N.Z. Forest Products, Ltd., was settled today before the Auckland Conciliation Commissioner (Mr C. L. Hunter).
The dispute was over pay and employment conditions. The president of the Federation of Labour (Mr T. E. Skinner) said that an agreement on the basic wage rate and holidays was reached. The agreement, which was signed, will be valid for 18 months.
Two hundred paper workers at the Penrose works of N.Z. Forest Products threatened to strike from midnight last Sunday. But the strike was deferred because of today's negotiations.
