“New Brighton 50” Entries

Eight runners have entered for th* "New Brighton 50" to be run from Hawarden to New Brighton on Saturday. Two North Island entries are C. Frethy (Wellington), the first athlete in New Zealand to run 100 miles and D. Stephenson (Auckland), who was second last year. Stephenson has run 142 miles in 24 hours. Auckland marathon representative, I. Keats, is not available, and the Canterbury six-mile champion. B. Turner, last year's winner, is not expected to defend his "title.” The other entrants are: H. Vodder, L. E. Fox. C. Wood, C. F. Reece, J. Kenny and D. Kennedy (Waimate).
