Receives Insignia

(N.Z. Presi Attociation)

AUCKLAND, Mar. 15.

At a private function at the Borough Council chambers in Cambridge today, the Gov-ernor-General (Sir Bernard Fergusson) received Mrs E. I. Gudex, of Hamilton, and handed her the insignia of the M.8.E., intended for her husband, Mr M. C. Gudex. Mr Gudex was awarded the M.B.E. in the birthday honours list in 1962 for services to education and horticulture, but bad health had prevented his attending an investiture. He died at Hamilton on February 9, aged‘76.
