COMPENSATION FOR LOSS OF COURSE

NAPIER, March 12. The Napier Park Racing Club has been awarded, £48,336 in compensation for the compulsory taking of the former Napier Park racecourse by the Napier City Council. The Hawke’s Bay Land Valuation Committee, in a
reserved judgment issued this afternoon, found that the council should pay the dub this sum for the 87 acres taken by the council as a public recreation reserve, The club, in a three-day hearing last month,/ argued that the council should pay £61,778 for the land.
