Aratiatia Now Generating
(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, March 11. The Electricity Department today took charge of the new £7 million hydro electric power station at Aratiatia, the eighth and last of the Waikato river projects. The 90,000 kilowatt station was handed over by the Ministry of Works engineer in charge of Waikato projects Mr A. W. Gibbson. At 2 p.m. today Aratiatia began feeding its first power into the North Island grid, two and a half weeks ahead of schedule.
